Once you've earned his trust, you'll have a devoted companion who loves walks, hikes, car rides, adventures, and cozy snuggles at home.He's smart, house-trained, crate trained, food motivated, and eager to learn. Auggie knows his basic commands, enjoys chewing on durable toys, lounging in the sun, looking out the window, and showing off his goofy personality by shredding cardboard boxes (when approved!) or doing happy zoomies after coming in from the rain.Auggie is happiest in a calm home with people who understand that he needs a little time to warm up to new people. He can be wary of strangers, visitors, and some larger dogs, and he appreciates patient introductions, positive reinforcement, and clear routines. Once he feels safe, his loving, loyal personality truly shines. Auggie is looking for someone who will appreciate his sensitive nature and give him the time he needs to build trust. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.
