Description

Ready to meet the goodest girl you will ever know?! Then look no further than Sadie.  Sadie immediately adjusted into our home and our routine within hours. Our home includes a resident dog (Samoyed) name Daisy, a 3+ month baby, a 3 year old toddler, and husband and wife. There is only 1 word to describe Sadie's overall personality: CHILL. Seriously, for an adult GSD Sadie is the lazy one!  Sadie is very mature in her adulthood. There is no "puppy" in her, for example she is not interested in fetch, toys or chews. Her main interest is YOU. Sadie is very much a velcro dog and in the best way! She just wants to be close to you without being overbearing or needy. Sadie will go nuts over squirrels, though!  Sadie's life before her temporary stay at the shelter is unknown, but it is clear that she was very well taken care of. She has her basic training down, house broken, and her health is pretty much golden! Sadie was not interested in our crate and that's ok! Since Sadie is extremely chill, the crate was not needed. When left alone we simply gated her in the section of the house and there have been no issues. We are working on leash manners (no harness) and Sadie is responding well to the training collar to stop her from lunging at squirrels and to stop leash pulling. Sadie had to overcome not being scared of the stairs when she arrived, and she is not interested in jumping on furniture or into cars. Sadie bonded with our toddler immediately like "who is this new friend??" and our toddler calls her "big dog." Sadie has been extremely gentle with our girls during her foster stay, even with a crying baby and a screaming toddler!  Sadie's ideal home is a family who understands that her golden years are approaching and that she just wants to live in a home full of love and comfort. Sadie may be very chill, but she is up for any adventure you want to do!  Inquiries: ashtenmaria@gmail.com  UPDATE: 08/07/26 - Sadie would do best in a home with another dog(s) and/or children. The other dog does not have to be a GSD. Sadie is content with a child in the home because to her my toddler is her "job." Sadie would make the perfect family dog!
