Description

Scooby is one of those dogs who reminds you that resilience comes in the gentlest forms. Despite the challenges he’s faced, he greets each day with a happy heart, a wagging tail, and an easygoing spirit that makes everyone around him smile. He’s a sweet, affectionate boy who asks for very little beyond kindness, a comfortable place to call home, and someone to share life’s simple moments with. Scooby is happiest when he’s outside enjoying the fresh air. Whether it’s a leisurely walk or simply taking in the sights and smells around him, he loves spending time outdoors. He prefers to move at his own pace, taking life nice and slow, and there’s something incredibly special about his calm, thoughtful approach to the world. While toys don’t seem to be high on Scooby’s priority list, affection certainly is. He’s been wonderful for handling and absolutely melts for a good scratch session. Spending quality time with his people is what truly makes him happiest. Scooby has also been friendly with other dogs. He’s happy to say hello, but he’s just as content doing his own thing rather than constantly seeking out play. If you already have another dog at home, we’re always happy to provide a dog meet and greet before adoption. Like many shelter dogs, Scooby will need a little patience as he settles into a new home. Giving him time to adjust, along with gentle guidance and a consistent routine, will help him feel safe and confident as he begins his next chapter. He can be a little anxious in the shelter environment and it’s hard to know for sure if this will follow him into his new home.Shortly after arriving at the shelter, Scooby experienced a seizure. The exact cause was never determined, and we’re happy to share that he has not had another seizure while in our care. As a precaution, he was evaluated by a veterinarian and will go home with medication. His adopters should plan to establish care with a regular veterinarian to monitor his health and discuss any future needs.Scooby is such a special boy with so much love left to give. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily stroll beside you, soak up every scratch, and remind you to slow down and enjoy life’s quiet moments, Scooby may be the perfect fit.
