I’m Sombra, and I’m so happy you stopped to read about me!  A couple of weeks ago, I wandered onto someone’s property after being shot with a BB/pellet gun. It was scary, but kind people took me to the vet to check for a microchip, contacted local shelters, and shared my story everywhere, hoping my family would come looking for me. Sadly… no one ever did.  I had been living outside all alone. But those days are behind me! I’m finally safe, warm, and learning what it means to live inside a home where I belong. I’m about a year old, weigh around 35–40 pounds, and I absolutely LOVE the water! Splashing around is one of my favorite things to do.  I’m dog-friendly with slow introductions and have come such a long way. My wounds have healed, and now my heart is healing too. I know black dogs like me are often overlooked, but I hope someone will see past my color and into my heart. I’m ready to find a family who will love me forever and never let me wonder if I belong again.
