Description

MEET REX! Our best guess is that Rex is a Shih Tzu with maybe some Frenchie mix, but the one thing we're absolutely certain of? He's 100% adorable. ❤️ When we first met Rex at the shelter, he was literally shaking with fear and beginning to shut down. We knew we needed to get him out of there, and once he landed in a foster home, it took approximately ZERO time for his real personality to come shining through. And what a personality it is! Rex is a happy, playful, affectionate little guy who wants nothing more than to be part of whatever his people are doing. He LOVES to play, loves to cuddle, and would happily spend 24/7 by your side. He'll curl up with you on the couch, entertain you with his silly personality, and if you'd like to take him for a car ride to get ice cream? Well, you've officially found the way to his heart. Rex is also a fantastic little roommate! He's potty trained, crate trained, sleeps through the night, isn't a destructive chewer, and is a great walker. He happily sleeps in his crate with some toys and a fluffy blanket, although he'd certainly accept an invitation to sleep in bed with his family. He's wonderful with other dogs and does a great job reading their cues. If they want to play, he's ready to go! If they've had enough, Rex moves along and finds someone else to entertain him. He shares toys beautifully and has shown no food or toy aggression. Rex loves women and is friendly and affectionate with the people he meets while out and about. He can initially be nervous around men and just needs a little time to feel comfortable. He hasn't lived with cats or small children in his foster home, so those are still unknowns but we predict it would go fine. His foster family does want his future family to know that although Rex is potty trained, he does occasionally mark inside the house, so he'll need continued consistency and guidance with that behavior. Belly bands can be your best friend while working through that bad habit with him! Rex went from a terrified little dog shaking in a shelter to a confident, joyful goofball who seems determined to make up for lost time. He has the BEST personality and is almost guaranteed to make his family laugh every single day. Most of all, Rex is a total lover who just wants someone to call his own. ❤️ Rex is ready to be somebody's absolute best friend.
