* In Foster Care * Meet & Greets by appointment. * Please submit an application online and we’ll call to schedule! *  Maverick is a handsome brown tabby who was rescued with his mama and siblings from Hawthorne Auto Square when he was about five or six weeks old. Even at that young age, he was exceptionally cautious around people. He has always loved other cats, treats, and wand toys, but usually kept human visitors at a distance. A move to a quiet foster home with people experienced in helping shy cats has allowed him to make wonderful progress. Maverick is still sensitive to quick or loud movement, but he now follows his foster mom throughout the house like a little shadow and allows her husband to hold him. He is playful, curious, and treat motivated. He truly loves other cats and could be happy with a friendly feline companion, although he may choose that cat over his people at times. He could also do well as an only cat, where his relationship with his adopters can continue to grow. Maverick is looking for a quiet, predictable home with patient people who will let him settle in at his own pace. He may not greet everyone at the door, but once he feels safe, he has shown that he can form a very special bond.
