Description

Meet Keeks, aka Keekers, Keke, Keekareekers! This sweet, little baby is the bee's knees! If you are looking for a calm, loving, chill friend, look no further. Keeks loves all things cats and people. She might be a bit shy at first but as she opens up she is just about THE sweetest kitty you will ever meet. I am convinced she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She loves to roll over to have you pet her belly. We call her "the fidgeter" because she will roll her body all around next to you so you can pet her belly, her back, her tail, her face, literally all of her. Keekers does very well with other cats and kids but she isn't a huge fan of being held. She doesn't mind it at times but she will squirm around until you put her down. She does like to come and lay next to you and on your lap. She is a supreme snuggler at night once she gets to know you.  Medical Note Keeks has a luxating patella, a condition in which the kneecap occasionally slips out of its normal groove in the thighbone. This is typically a congenital or developmental condition caused by a shallow groove or slight misalignment of the leg bones. Following a comprehensive veterinary examination and X-rays, we discussed both treatment and potential surgical options with our veterinarian. While surgery is available to correct the condition, our veterinarian does not recommend it at this time. Keeks is not experiencing any pain or discomfort, and although she may occasionally limp, the condition does not currently affect her quality of life. In fact, since coming into our care, Keeks has shown noticeable improvement. Having the opportunity to run, play, and jump in a larger environment, something she did not have in her previous home, has helped strengthen her mobility. Over the past month, her occasional limping has become increasingly infrequent. Because luxating patellas can, in some cases, progress with age, we would like to offer a follow-up evaluation with our rescue veterinarian should concerns arise in the future. If surgical intervention is ever deemed medically necessary, we are committed to assisting with the cost of the procedure, provided it is performed through our veterinarian. Keeks has been spayed, micrchipped, she is up to date on vaccines and negative for FeLV and FIV. Her adoption fee is $240.
