Hemingway - Male DOB 10/1/2022 Domestic Short Hair - Silver Tabby with White Hemingway is a playful, goofy guy with a big personality. He has a short, stocky build and a beautiful silver tabby coat that’s incredibly fluffy — he’s the kind of cat you just want to run your hands through. He adores head scratches and is starting to enjoy gentle pets more and more each day. While he’s okay with being picked up for a moment, it’s not his favorite thing. What he really loves is curling up beside you, soaking in the affection, and hearing what a good boy he is.  He also likes to follow you around and be where the action is. Hemingway takes playtime very seriously. He’s fast, athletic, and full of energy — but also wonderfully klutzy. In fact, he might be the exception to the rule that cats always land on their feet! When he’s chasing a wand toy, he’ll launch himself through the air or run excited circles trying to catch it, sometimes tumbling onto his side or bumping into a wall along the way. His playful antics are guaranteed to make you laugh. He also loves climbing up cat trees and shelves so he can perch up high and overlook his kingdom. Hemingway is naturally curious and adventurous, and he enjoys exploring his surroundings once he feels comfortable.  He has been evaluated by our veterinarian for occasional mild respiratory noise. Chest X-rays showed mild, stable lower airway changes, but he is not currently on any medication and continues to be happy and healthy. He may occasionally have a very faint wheeze after vigorous play or in warm temperatures, though it's so subtle that you'll usually only notice it if you're very close to his face.  Hemingway would enjoy going home to another playful, but gentle kitty.  He would also be fine being your only cat, but he would love to have as much attention from his humans as you have time for.  Hemingway could be a good match for a home with older, respectful children but no dogs or young children would be best to help keep his stress level down.
