Description
Courtesy Post — Chief was adopted from us in 2021 as a puppy, and his family in St. Joseph, Michigan is now looking for a more suitable home for him. He is a wonderful, sweet Shepherd mix, about 5 years old and 60 pounds.Chief loves his immediate family and gets along beautifully with the other dogs in the home — including small dogs. His challenge is with the grandkids who visit frequently from across the street. He becomes protective of his belongings, especially his bed, and this behavior is only directed toward the grandkids, not adults and not other dogs. He gets anxiety and tucks his tail between his legs when the grandkids run in the house, and there is a lot of activity. He needs a quiet, calm home so he can relax. • A fully fenced-in yard• A home where someone is home more often• No regular visits from young childrenHe is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a home that matches his comfort level and personality. His adoption fee is being waived; however, we do screen all applications carefully, and placement will only be made if it is the right fit for Chief. Applicants should have experience with Shepherds or similar breeds and a stable home environment
