Chief was surrendered to our rescue. Chief is a wonderful, sweet Shepherd mix, about 5 years old and 60 pounds.Chief loved his immediate family and got along well with the other dogs in the household, including the smaller ones. However, he struggled with the grandkids who frequently visit from across the street. He became protective of his belongings, particularly his bed, and this behavior was directed only at the grandkids, not at adults or other dogs. When the grandkids ran into the house, Chief would get anxious and tuck his tail between his legs due to the increased activity. He needs a calm and quiet home environment so he can relax.• A fully fenced-in yard• A home where someone is home more often• No regular visits from young childrenHe is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and ready for a home that matches his comfort level and personality.His adoption fee is being waived; however, we do screen all applications carefully, and placement will only be made if it is the right fit for Chief. Applicants should have experience with Shepherds or similar breeds and a stable home environment
