Ace | 6-year-old Chihuahua | Tiny shadow with a big heart Ace is a 5.7-pound sweetheart who is equal parts devoted companion and professional snuggler. This tan-and-white Chihuahua is house trained in his foster home and enjoys getting out for walks, where he does great on leash and happily takes in the world around him. While he doesn’t use a specific signal to ask to go outside, he thrives with a consistent routine. Like many dogs, he may need a little time to adjust to a new environment, but he settles in well with patience and structure. Ace’s favorite place in the world is right next to his person—or better yet, in their lap. He forms a strong bond and loves to follow his favorite human from room to room, always ready to cuddle, nap, or simply keep you company. He’s a low-energy guy who is perfectly content with short strolls and lots of relaxation time, making him an ideal companion for someone who enjoys a quieter lifestyle. While he can be left alone for a few hours, he may initially whine or bark before settling, especially if he’d rather be with his person. Despite his tiny size, Ace has a big personality and does well out in the world. He has handled busy environments like parades, pet stores, and sporting events with ease. He gets along well with other dogs of all sizes and even cats, though he isn’t particularly interested in playing and would do best with calm companions who respect his space. He has done well with older children but can be protective of his person, especially when sitting in their lap, so a home without very young children would be best. Ace is incredibly affectionate and full of endearing quirks. He loves burrowing under blankets, resting his head on you, and showing off his adorable little “dance” when he’s excited—especially when it’s time for a walk. He enjoys being carried, whether in your arms, a sling, or even a stroller, and is happiest when he’s close to his person. With most of his teeth removed after a recent dental, he prefers soft foods and treats, which he happily accepts as motivation. Ace’s ideal home is one where someone is around much of the day to give him the attention and companionship he craves. He would thrive with a person or family who wants a constant, loving sidekick and understands his need for closeness and reassurance. Because of his very small size, he’ll need a home that is mindful of keeping him safe at all times. In return, Ace will be a loyal, loving companion who brings warmth, comfort, and a whole lot of heart to his forever home.
