Some cats see with their eyes. Sunlight sees with his heart, ears, whiskers, and incredible spirit. Sunlight—affectionately known as Felipito—was found with his brother when he was about six weeks old. He was very sick and suffering from a severe eye infection that eventually led to the loss of both eyes. While Sunlight was healing, his brother was adopted. Now about two years old, healthy, and full of life, Sunlight is still waiting for someone to notice just how extraordinary he is. Sunlight is playful, remarkably smart, and unbelievably sweet. He has spent time around children and has done beautifully with them. He may be shy when meeting someone new, but once he recognizes your voice and feels safe, his loving personality begins to shine. Because unfamiliar and noisy environments can be overwhelming for him, adoption events do not show this wonderful boy at his best. Blindness has not stopped Sunlight from enjoying life, but he will need a patient family willing to help him learn his new surroundings. A consistent, clutter-free home will help him thrive. Keeping furniture and bowls in the same places, clearing potentially harmful objects from the floor, offering toys that make noise, and giving him time to trust your voice will set him up for success. Sunlight does not need anyone to feel sorry for him.
