Adoption fee: $800 Flip Cup: A Fluffy Happy Little Cloud When Flip Cup first arrived at DPS Rescue, he was hidden beneath a coat of painful mats and desperately in need of a fresh start. After a much-needed makeover, this handsome little Poodle mix is feeling like a brand-new dog— and his joyful personality has blossomed right along with his beautiful, soft, non-shedding coat. At just 13 pounds and around 2–3 years old, Flip Cup has quickly become one of his foster family's all-time favorite dogs. They've fostered more than a dozen pups, and they say his loving personality truly stands out. If you've been searching for a dog whose greatest joy in life is simply being close to his people, Flip Cup may be your perfect match. A Typical Day with Flip Cup Flip Cup enjoys a relaxed morning, waking up around 9 or 10 a.m. with the rest of the family. His first stop is the backyard for a potty break, followed by breakfast— which he happily devours every single time. Because he has some skin and stomach sensitivities, he's currently thriving on a grain-free salmon kibble and has proven to be an enthusiastic, non-picky eater. After breakfast comes one of his favorite parts of the day: his morning walk. Flip Cup is truly a dream on leash. He walks right beside you without pulling, doesn't react to passing dogs, and seems perfectly content simply strolling alongside his favorite human. The rest of the day is a wonderful balance of fetch, naps, and quality time with his family. If you're working, he'll happily curl up on a nearby dog bed and snooze while keeping you company. Around 6 p.m. it's time for dinner, followed by another walk, some relaxing couch time, one last backyard potty break, and then bedtime in his crate. He may voice a few complaints for the first 5–10 minutes, but he always settles in and sleeps peacefully through the night. A Professional Cuddler (Who Also Happens to Love Fetch) Flip Cup is overflowing with affection. His favorite place in the world is wherever his people are. If you're sitting on the couch, expect him to gently nudge his nose under your arm until you start petting him. If that doesn't work, he'll politely paw at your hand as if to remind you that your hands clearly belong on him. More than anything, Flip Cup wants to soak up love and attention. Being held, cuddled, scratched, or simply sitting beside you makes him incredibly happy. He forms strong bonds with his people and truly enjoys sharing life together. But don't mistake him for a couch potato! This little guy has a playful side, too. He absolutely adores playing fetch and could happily chase his favorite squeaky bone toy for an hour if you'll keep throwing it. When he's ready for another round, he'll weave around your legs with those irresistible round eyes until you finally give in— and trust us, you probably will. Friendly with Dogs and People Flip Cup currently lives with three small resident dogs and gets along well with all of them. While he's recently started enjoying games of chase with the youngest dog, he honestly seems to prefer spending time with humans over playing with other dogs. He has also done well meeting children, though his excitement sometimes gets the best of him. His long legs give him quite a bit of bounce, and when he's happy he loves to jump up to greet his people, so a home with older children would likely be the best fit. Ready for Adventure If you enjoy daily walks, neighborhood strolls, or weekend hikes, Flip Cup would love to tag along. He's energetic without being overwhelming, playful without being demanding, and settles beautifully after he's had exercise and time with his people. His excellent leash manners make taking him anywhere a pleasure. Grooming Flip Cup has a classic non-shedding Poodle coat that will require regular brushing and professional grooming to keep him looking and feeling his best. His Perfect Home Flip Cup's biggest challenge is that he loves his people so much. He can become anxious when left home alone and will whine because he misses his family. For that reason, he'd thrive with adopters who can include him in their daily lives and understand that he'll need patience and reassurance as he continues building confidence. Someone who is home often or has a flexible schedule would help him adjust more easily, and previous dog experience would be a bonus. Why You'll Fall in Love Some dogs win you over with tricks. Some win you over with looks. Flip Cup wins you over with his heart. He's the kind of dog who simply wants to love you with everything he has. Whether he's quietly napping beside your desk, walking politely at your side, chasing his beloved squeaky toy, or gently asking for just one more scratch behind the ears, Flip Cup reminds you every day how wonderful it is to have a loyal best friend. If you're looking for an affectionate, playful companion who will happily join you on adventures and then curl up beside you afterward, Flip Cup is ready to become your new favorite shadow.
