Magnus — A Gentle Giant with an Even Bigger Heart If you've ever dreamed of a cat who believes laps were invented specifically for him, allow me to introduce myself. I'm Magnus, a sweet, easygoing gentleman with a heart that's every bit as big as my personality. My foster family calls me a gentle giant because I'm happiest when I'm curled up beside (or preferably on top of) my favorite people. In fact, I'm the biggest lap cat they've ever fostered, and I take that title very seriously. I'm a calm, confident guy who settles into new places almost instantly. Strange noises? New rooms? Even a surprise fire alarm didn't faze me. I prefer to spend my energy on the important things in life: napping, snuggling, supervising the household, and making sure you never feel lonely. When I have something to say, you'll usually hear soft trills and chirps instead of loud meows. I'm a quiet, polite companion who simply enjoys being wherever my people are. I love being held, adore belly rubs, and will happily claim your favorite chair the moment you stand up—just so it's nice and warm when you come back. I'm also a clever fellow. It only took me a couple of days to figure out how to open cabinets, so don't underestimate me! Right now I'm on a healthy weight-loss journey. At 17 pounds, I've got a few extra pounds to lose, and my foster family is helping me reach my goal weight of about 12–13 pounds through scheduled meals instead of free feeding. I'm handling it like a champ, and my future family should plan to continue my meal schedule to help keep me healthy for years to come. Before joining Give Me Shelter, I lived with another wonderful cat named Rowan, and we've done well together. We'd absolutely love to find a home together if the right family comes along, but we're also happy to be adopted separately. Want to see more of my daily adventures?
