Description
Woody is 11+ years old who has had bilateral eye removal surgery. He has healed up very well. He keeps a tidy kennel, and has been a very good boy to keep potties outside, and not inside. He has been accident free. Outdoors he is currently guided with a harness and leash while he continues to build confidence. He can be a little hesitant when first stepping onto hard surfaces, but once he reaches the yard, he navigates his surroundings surprisingly well and explores with increasing confidence. As he continues to learn his environment, we expect his comfort level to keep improving. He is shy to human touch but accepts some head pats, and body rubs. He makes some grumbles here and there about coming out of kennel but it has not been to lash out. Just a little verbal protest about being woken up. Woody may not see the world with his eyes anymore, but he experiences it through his nose, his ears, and his heart. His blindness doesn’t define him. It simply means he explores life a little differently. With a patient family willing to guide him as he gains confidence, Woody has all the makings of a wonderful companion. Easy to be around other dogs and cats. He is a sweet senior who deserves a soft place to land, and we’re excited to watch him continue to thrive.
