Description

Iona and her siblings, Irina and Ivan (adopted), were rescued from a feral colony when they were about 7 or 8 weeks old. They were all very sick with bad eye infections, and with lots of care, they have improved by leaps and bounds!  Iona is a classic marbled or mackerel tabby with white socks. She is very cute, and while Iona has become more accustomed to being pet and picked up, she can still be somewhat apprehensive about being handled by humans, especially strangers, and requires a patient adopter and a quiet home without small children. Once she starts purring, Iona does enjoy being pet, snuggling on your lap, and even being held, but she can be a challenge to get ahold of when running loose in the house. Her current foster finds that when Iona finds a safe spot, it becomes her "petting allowed" spot where her human can approach her, pet her, and even pick her up and cuddle her.  Iona and Irina both have chronic weepy eyes lingering from their early kittenhood eye infections. It's unknown whether this will ever resolve. Irina also has a birth defect in her spine that does not keep her from running around and doing everything a normal kitten does. Please consider adopting Irina with her sister, Iona, or another friend. Single-kitten adoptions are possible when there are other playful and cat-friendly cats in the home. Learn more about the reason why we don't adopt kittens out alone. This litter has an estimated date of birth of October 14th, 2025. Irina and Iona are small for their age, with Irina being particularly small. They are both already spayed and ready for their forever home!
