Clara is a 2-year-old, sweet and sassy lady looking for her forever home!This beautiful dilute tortie (soft grey and muted orange blended together) is a quiet, curious observer. When introduced to a new environment or person, she prefers to take her time to assess the new situation. Once she warms up though (and it doesn’t take her too long), she really shows her personality as a sweet, loyal, affectionate companion. While Clara is an independent lady, perfectly capable of entertaining herself, she would definitely prefer to be near or around humans. In fact, she prefers human affection over treats! (She’s not food-driven and other than Churus, will always select people as her preferred reward.)This smart girl was quick to adapt and learn the house rules. She is a very tidy cat and takes excellent care of her fur, making her one of the softest cats you will ever get to pet! But don’t let her prim, proper posture fool you. When she is feeling comfortable, she will on occasion enter a playful goblin mode and let her goofy side out!Clara has a laid-back energy level and would be a great companion for someone looking for a peaceful, gentle kitty. During the day, she likes to relax and curl up in a window or snuggle in a cat tree. She enjoys play-sessions with feather wands, laser beams, or ‘fetching’ thrown mice toys. When she’s in her sassy mood, she’ll have fun chasing or goofing off with the other cats in the house.This lovely gal is currently staying in a quiet two-story home with two adults who work from home, 3 resident cats, and one gentle Great Pyrenees who is sweet with cats. She has not been exposed to children.Clara would prefer a calm, peaceful environment. She can be reserved with loud or unfamiliar places and sounds, and it takes her some time to warm up to new humans. She would not be well-suited for a busy household with young children or a lot of activity in the home. She is comfortable around other cats with slow, gradual introductions but because she’s fairly independent, she would be fine on her own, too (as long as her people were around to hang out with her). She does well with respectful, calm dogs.Clara is affectionate but will set boundaries. She is particular with how she likes to be pet during early interactions with people she has just met. However, once she has decided you are a trustworthy human, she loves the attention, and doesn’t even mind being ‘scooped’ and cuddled. She is so soft and fluffy, it’s hard not to want to scoop her all the time!If you’d like to spend lots of quality hours with a stunning new companion, Clara is so ready to meet you!There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown.
