Description

Frasier spent five years with the same family before landing back at Midwest Pet Refuge, and he is having a rough time understanding why.He's a lap cat at heart. Once he trusts you, he wants to be near you, on you, whatever works. Getting there just takes patience. Frasier is shy with new people and tends to warm up to women faster than men. He's not aggressive, just anxious, and he needs someone willing to let him set the pace instead of pushing for affection before he's ready.His former home included a large dog and his own brother, and he did fine with both. Things got harder when a 10 year old family member started chasing him, and Frasier began having accidents outside the litter box. We think that's a stress response to being chased rather than a medical or behavioral issue on his part, and it's worth knowing about going in. A calm, predictable household will go a long way for him.Frasier is strictly an indoor cat. The night before he was surrendered, he was put outside, which is not something he was used to or built for. Between that and the move to the rescue, he's been keeping to himself, currently settled into the bookstore where things are quieter. He's still hiding more than we'd like, but reach in for a scratch and he leans right into it. He wants the contact.
