Isabella: at the shelter

Description

Isabella is a kind-hearted Great Pyrenees brought to the shelter with 3 nine-week old babies in tow, as well as a pretty nasty case of infected eyes. (In case she doesn’t respond to her name, it’s because we bestowed it upon her when we discovered she was nameless.)  We are concerned that her eye problems are a result of entropion, a condition where the eyelids roll under and eyelashes rub on the eyeball. She has impaired vision in one eye, and we pray has unaffected vision in the other one. The pain must be excruciating, and we hope to alleviate it as quickly as we can with a vet visit and recommendation for whatever needs to be done.  Her three female pups are healthy, and she is a great mom. Lena, Maria, and Nina are old enough to be adopted, and we would love to see them placed in homes. (Our best guess is that dad is a hound!) She is very devoted to them, allowing them to nurse, even at the stage of their growth. We know she would be just as happy to see them somewhere safe!
