The Good Samaritan contacted us to see if we would take her into our program and we said “yes”, to find her a better home. Ruby is FAST and when she knows you she will warm up quickly. She wants to play with you and is so excited that you are her friend. Sadly she was not taught any manners so whomever adopts her must keep her socialized with strangers and have another small young MALE dog for her to play with as she is ALL puppy and loves to play. You will also need to teach her some obedience because again she was kept mostly on that chain and no training. Because she is so sweet we are looking for a special home for her so you must meet our requirements. A fenced in yard Another young small MALE dog to play with no medium or large dogs Someone that is home more than not to teach her manners and have patience with her and help her work on her housebreaking skills Because she does like to bark, no apartments, high rises, condos or duplex’s If you meet these requirements and others please feel free to fill out our online adoption application. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
