Robert is a 9-year-old Affenpinscher mix who recently came to our rescue through no fault of his own. He was originally adopted three years ago when he was 6 years old and was deeply loved by his family. Due to unforeseen personal circumstances, they made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him. They provided him with exceptional care and wanted only the best for him. Robert is an affectionate, feisty little guy who enjoys the company of other friendly small dogs. He's curious about the world around him and still has a playful side that shines through once he's comfortable. When meeting new people, especially men, Robert prefers to take things at his own pace. He's not aggressive—he simply likes to observe first and make sure someone is safe before offering his trust. Once he knows you, he's a devoted companion. Robert is accustomed to using both potty pads and going outside to do his business. As with any dog adjusting to a new home and routine, he may have an occasional accident while settling in, but with patience and consistency, he should adapt well. He is a squeak toy enthusiast who will attack them with vigor!  No squeak toy can win a war with Robert! Because quick movements can make him nervous, Robert would do best in a home without children. He'd be happiest in a calm home where he can relax and feel secure. If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion with a feisty little heart and plenty of affection to give, Robert is ready to spend his golden years by your side. All he needs is someone willing to give him the patience, understanding, and love he so deserves. Unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked.
