Description

SWEET & A LITTLE SHY: Approx. 4 years / Approx. 33 lbs.      Hi there, I’m Joctober! I was adopted as a puppy, but my family’s workload increased and they no longer have enough time to give me. Thankfully, I’m back with Mostly Mutts and ready for my second chance at finding a wonderful forever home! I’m grateful to be back and hopeful that my perfect family is just around the corner!      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and though I wasn’t quite ready to play, I also didn’t show any aggression. My former family reported that I liked the dogs I met while I was with them, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, though my former family reported that I liked the kids I met while I was with them, though I don’t recall their ages. I think older calm-natured kids would be best, so if you have kids like this, let’s meet. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: When I was returned to Mostly Mutts, I was very stressed because my whole world had been turned upside down. Thankfully, once I realized I was in a safe place surrounded by kind people, I began to relax and show my very sweet personality. I can still have a little stranger danger and am timid about overhead movements, so please go slowly when we meet and let me get to know you. Once I feel comfortable, I warm up nicely and have been very polite and friendly. I am ready to build a trusting bond with my forever family. / Energy level: 4-6, likely a little higher once I feel comfortable at home.      • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have already mastered the 'sit', 'stay', 'come', 'leave it' and 'place' commands. I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners. Let's continue my training together with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts, though I do not like people reaching into it—just let me come out to you. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule and my former family reported that I had good potty manners too.     • LIKES/DISLIKES: I enjoy playing with toys and spending time with the nice volunteers. I even chased a tennis ball—bringing it back is still a work in progress (hey, I'm learning!). I also enjoy getting pets and my training sessions are fun. I’m sure once I’m settled into my forever home, we’ll discover many more favorite things to do together. / I’m a bit frightened by passing cars when out on walks, and I can be head shy, so I appreciate gentle movements and people who avoid reaching over my head too quickly. And like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.    • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m a sweet fellow looking for a wonderful family that enjoys spending time with their 4-legged friends and will make me an important part of their lives! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.
