Queenie is a beautiful approx. 2 year old female Chinchilla looking for a fresh start after being surrendered through no fault of her own. Unfortunately, her previous home had more animals than they were able to properly care for, and now Queenie is ready to find a forever family that can provide her with the love, attention, and specialized care she deserves. Chinchillas are intelligent, curious, and gentle companions that thrive in a calm, predictable environment. They require a spacious, multi-level enclosure with solid flooring, plenty of opportunities for climbing and exercise, and a cool, well-ventilated area, as they are highly sensitive to heat. Their diet should consist primarily of high-quality chinchilla pellets and unlimited grass hay, with fresh water available at all times. Dust baths several times each week are essential to keep their dense coats healthy and clean. While chinchillas can be shy at first, they often form strong bonds with their caregivers through patient, gentle handling and daily interaction. Queenie will benefit from a family willing to give her time to settle in and build trust at her own pace. Like all pets, chinchillas require routine veterinary care with an experienced exotic animal veterinarian. Regular wellness exams, proper nutrition, and attentive husbandry help ensure they live long, healthy lives, with many chinchillas living 10 to 20 years or more. Queenie's adoption fee is $50.
