Description

Zeke is a 5 year old, 60 lb Sheepadoodle with a happy go lucky spirit and an endless appetite for adventure!   Quick Facts: Name: Zeke Breed: Sheepdog/ Poodle mix Age: 5 years old Weight: 60 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (best with playful dogs around his size) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes (older kids he can’t accidentally knock over)  Energy Level: Very high Fence Required: No Dog's Location: Fremont, NC   About Zeke’s Breed: Our best guess is that Zeke is a Sheepdog/Poodle mixed breed. Sheepdog/Poodle mixes — often called Sheepadoodles — are known for their bright intelligence, affectionate nature, and lively, playful spirit. They blend the Old English Sheepdog’s gentle, family oriented temperament with the Poodle’s sharp mind and athleticism, creating dogs who are social, people loving, and eager to be part of whatever their humans are doing. Many Sheepadoodles are happy, goofy companions who thrive on interaction, mental stimulation, and plenty of activity.   Their ideal home is one that offers structure, exercise, and consistent companionship. Because they’re energetic and highly social, Sheepadoodles flourish in households where they can enjoy daily walks, playtime, and engagement with their people. They do well with respectful children, active families, and homes that appreciate their enthusiasm and affectionate nature. With steady routines, positive reinforcement, and an environment that lets them burn energy and feel included, Sheepdog/Poodle mixes grow into wonderfully loyal, joyful companions.   What to Love about Zeke: Zeke is a high energy, fun loving boy who wants to be part of everything life has to offer — hiking, walking, exploring, playing, and meeting new people! He adores being around humans and has been wonderful with everyone he meets, including kids, though his enthusiasm and size mean he’s best suited for a home without very small children he might accidentally knock over. He plays hard and thrives with dogs close to his size, but he’s also respectful of cats and would be happy with doggie siblings or as your one and only companion.   Zeke is great on a leash and would make an excellent adventure buddy for an active adopter! He is potty-trained and crate trained, making him pretty much move in ready! His biggest challenge is thunderstorms — he becomes very anxious, cannot remain in a secured crate, and needs an experienced, patient owner who can help him feel safe during storms. He asks that his forever family be home during thunder so he knows he’s protected. In return, Zeke will shower you with affection, loyalty, and the kind of love that makes you feel truly appreciated! He’s ready for his next exciting chapter and can’t wait to find the person or family who will embrace his joyful energy and gentle heart!   Zeke’s Zippy Highlights: • 5 year old, 60 lb Sheepadoodle with a happy go lucky personality • High energy adventurer who loves hiking, walking, and exploring • Potty-trained and crate trained • Great with people — friendly with everyone he meets, including kids • Best in homes without small children due to his enthusiastic play and size • Plays well with medium to large dogs and is respectful of cats • Would enjoy doggie siblings but is also content as your one and only • Excellent on leash and a perfect active companion • Thunderstorm anxious — needs an experienced owner who can help him feel safe • Not crate safe during storms and requires someone home during severe weather • Deeply loving and loyal — makes his people feel appreciated and adored   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
