Description
Meet Callisto! Callisto was found in an area of Texas that is unfortunately known for abandoned dogs. Thankfully, she's now safe in foster care and getting the chance she's always deserved. She's still settling into her foster home, but we're learning more about this girl every day—and so far, she's proving to be quite the character. Callisto is a total sweetheart who loves her people and comes with just the right amount of classic Malinois sass and mischievousness to keep life entertaining. One of the things we really love about Callisto is that she has a great off switch! She can play hard and has a medium drive, but she doesn't need her humans to constantly entertain her. Give this girl a few toys and she'll happily rotate through them, tossing them around and finding ways to keep herself busy. She is actually pretty good at keeping her own brain occupied—which is definitely something a Malinois needs to know how to do! Of course, she wouldn't be a Malinois without a few quirks. Callisto's current love languages include jumping up to say hello and trying to lick your face, so we're working on reminding her that keeping all four feet on the floor is, in fact, an option. She's also a good little crate girl and will go into her crate willingly when asked. She may have a few complaints to file once the door closes, though. She'll grumble and protest for a few minutes before settling down—because apparently she feels strongly that her opinions should be heard. Callisto has also officially started treatment for heartworm disease. Her treatment will take some time, and she'll need to take things easy while she recovers, but we're so grateful she's safe, receiving the medical care she needs, and finally has the chance to focus on feeling better. As she continues to gain confidence and settle into her routine, we're excited to see even more of her personality come out. Callisto will thrive with a Malinois-savvy family who appreciates a dog with a brain of her own, a playful side, an off switch, and just enough sass to keep things interesting. We're pretty sure Callisto is going to be one of those dogs who keeps her family laughing for years to come. ***********************************************To apply to adopt, please fill out the application by clicking on the Adopt button or ask for this dog to be added to your existing application. All MAD dogs come with a series 3 Fi Collar and a six-month subscription.
