Blue is a handsome 1-year-old, 60-pound Belgian Malinois with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and energy to spare! This athletic young guy is looking for an active family who is ready to embrace everything this amazing breed has to offer. Blue is house trained, kennel trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and already knows some basic commands. He's eager to learn, highly intelligent, and thrives with structure, consistency, and positive reinforcement. Like most Belgian Malinois, Blue loves having a job to do and will flourish with a family committed to continuing his training. Blue is wonderful with people of all ages and sizes and enjoys making new human friends. He also does well with other dogs as long as they are friendly and non-reactive. However, Blue is not a good fit for a home with cats. An active lifestyle is exactly what Blue is looking for! Whether it's hiking, running, playing fetch, training, or participating in dog sports, he'll be happiest with a family that will provide both the physical exercise and mental stimulation he needs every day. His ideal home understands that Belgian Malinois are incredibly loyal, driven companions who thrive when they're included as part of the family and given an outlet for their energy. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more) - not just until his puppy cuteness wears off. You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Like most puppies, he may chew on anything within his reach to include but not limited to baseboards, shoes, socks, children's toys, electrical cords, plants, etc. His adoption fee is $300. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccinations, Bravecto®, Drontal® Plus, Tri-Heart® Plus Chewable Tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references.
