Birthday: May 1, 2016 Aurelia is a gorgeous lady with luxurious, silky-soft fur, a little bit of sass, and a whole lot of love to give. After spending her entire life with one family, she's looking for a peaceful retirement home where she can settle in and be cherished. Aurelia was surrendered after her family brought home a new kitten that she simply couldn't adjust to. After ten years in the same home, it was a huge change for this sweet girl. She's ready to find a forever family that understands her and will love her just as she is. This beautiful girl enjoys having her people nearby and loves being part of the action. While she isn't necessarily a full-time lap cat, she's definitely lap adjacent—happy to curl up beside you on the couch and keep you company. Affection is important to Aurelia, but she prefers it on her own terms. When she's in the mood for attention, she'll happily accept pets and has the cutest way of showing her appreciation: she'll shower you with repeated little licks to let you know just how happy she is. Aurelia would do best as the only cat in the home or with one older, respectful feline companion who understands personal space. Kittens and energetic cats simply aren't her style. She does have a medical condition that makes her prone to occasional sores around her mouth and face, but it's very well managed with daily medication. In fact, she's one of the easiest cats to give a pill to—she takes her medicine like an absolute champ! With her medication, her condition is easily controlled and doesn't stop her from enjoying life. Because of her long, beautiful coat, Aurelia will also need regular grooming and occasional shaving to prevent painful mats from forming. She'll look and feel her best with a little extra coat maintenance.
