Description

NUGGET  is a male guinea pig that is truly one of a kind. This sweet fellow came to us from a lovely military couple who were being stationed overseas and could not keep him. They loved him dearly and were completely heartbroken to give up their beloved pet. They rescued Nugget from an abusive situation when he was very young and loved him like crazy for 3 years. This piggie is super social. He loves being talked to and held. Don't think for a second you can walk by his cage without saying hello. He will absolutely call you out and let you know how offended he is! He loves to play with his stacking cups and burrow in a big pile of timothy hay, while simultaneously having a snack. Nugget hates going potty on his human friends and will let you know when he needs to go. If he can get away on his own to get back to his cage and potty he will! Nugget has had minimal exposure to other guinea pigs, but because of his laid-back demeanor, we think he would do well with another boy or a spayed female with careful introduction and exposure bonding. His foster mom is more than happy to guide a prospective adopter through this! We also think Nugget is one of those rare piggies that would really enjoy being the only pig for the right forever family that can give him lots of time and attention. Either way, Nugget's future forever family is going to be one lucky family. He is such a fun and funny character. but also a lovely gentleman!   Adoption Fee: $40 If not already on our website, please visit www.caretoadopt.org to view the complete pet profile & download the adoption application. Completed applications should be emailed to caretoadopt@gmail.com . Breeds are our best guess based on experience and research. To learn about proper guinea pig care and why bonded pairs are a great idea, please visit: www.guinealynx.info .   All guinea pigs are fed high quality Oxbow Guinea Pig pellets (timothy based for adults), variety of grass, hays, and veggies, some fruit. Vitamin C must be given fresh daily (we use Oasis Multi-vitamin with HIGH vit C in water bottles). We primarily use grass hays, aspen bedding or paper bedding (helps reduce allergens for those of us who suffer from allergies). We do not neuter guinea pigs due to risk factors.
