Description
Sophie is one of those delicate little girls that just makes you want to protect her from all the bad things that scare this little soul. The hobgloblins of life must have scared her early. At just a one year old that is 11 pounds and was found as a stray and because of the proximity of where she was found, it was believed she was part of a not so good breeding farm. No one ever takes dogs back to a breeding farm like that. No collar, no microchip, tiny and scared to death. Soon Critter Cavalry Rescue was asked to take her in and get her vetted and we promised to find the best and most understanding home that would allow her to slowly learn to relax and trust the new people and home that awaits her. She has a playful personality that is wonderful to see emerging as she lives amongst 5 other tiny well behaved dogs her size. She runs/hides when she sees new people but has accepted head scratches and letting her foster mom pick her up. A positive interaction is that she sleeps in the bed with her foster mom now and she being taught to walk on a leash which is starting at ground zero for her. She is frightened out of her mind and we are trying a harness. Patient love, gentleness with this girl and consistent effort every day to put the leash on her and walk will soon help her cross the barrier to become a relaxed lap dog girl that will be a prize.
