Description
Hi, I'm Kato! I'm a very special little bunny with quite the story. Before I was even born, my mom was rescued from a massive rabbit dumpsite in Mankato along with more than 50 other rabbits. Soon after she arrived safely in rescue, she gave birth to me and my sibling. I've been surrounded by love and people since the day I was born, and I think that's why I love being around my humans so much. One of my favorite things about myself is the little butterfly on my nose. Well...it isn't a real butterfly, of course, but my markings make it look like one landed there and decided to stay! I'm a curious girl who likes to know what's going on. I'll happily explore every corner of the room, but don't worry—I always come back to check on my people. If you sit on the floor with me, chances are I'll hop right over to hang out. I love being petted, and I think quality time with my humans is one of life's greatest joys. I've also been told I'm a bit of a Dancing Queen! Whenever someone comes into the room, I stand up on my back legs and do my happy little dance while I wait for a head scratch or maybe a tasty treat. I can't help myself—I'm just excited to see you! I've grown up sharing my home with two older cats and two small resident dogs (18 and 14 pounds). I've known them my whole life through an exercise pen, and now we're slowly working on meeting without the barrier. I'm a confident bunny and don't run away from the dogs—I usually just lift my nose up to greet them! Slow, supervised introductions are important, but I've shown that I'm comfortable around respectful furry friends. When it comes to food, I'm pretty easy to please...with one exception! Every morning and every night I look forward to my fresh greens, and I get Oxbow Adult Rabbit Pellets in the evening. My favorite thing to munch is big piles of second-cut Timothy hay. (Between you and me, I'm a bit of a hay connoisseur and I'm not a fan of Oxbow's hay.) I've been a very respectful house rabbit. Of course, every bunny needs a properly bunny-proofed home, but I haven't shown any interest in chewing furniture or wood. I think I'd enjoy having a bunny companion someday if I met the right match. Until then, I'm perfectly happy spending time with my humans, exploring my world, and showing off my dance moves. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate, curious bunny who will greet you with excitement every day and make your house feel a little happier, I just might be your girl. *RRMN requires all children be 10+ years old for first time bunny owners and 8+ for those with previous bunny experience. All applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.* If you're interested, please fill out an adoption application at: http://www.rabbitrescueofmn.com. Gender: Female (spayed) Exact birthdate: 9/2/2025 Approximate weight: 5.29 lbs Adoption fee: $100.00 (+tax) RRMN bunnies are all vetted, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated. All bunnies are fostered in private homes where they are socialized and ready to become indoor companion house pets. RRMN is a non-profit rescue group operated 100% by volunteers, and 100% of donations/adoption fees go to the direct care of our animals. Due to their very special behavioral needs, we do not advocate for our rescue rabbits to serve as Emotional Support Animals (ESAs). We are unable to provide any documentation or certification for an ESA. If you have any questions or are interested in meeting or adopting this bunny, the first step is to complete an adoption application found on our website: http://www.rabbitrescueofmn.com. For the safety of our rescue bunnies, our protocol requires a home-visit before placement. Therefore, we are unable to facilitate adoptions that exceed an hour and a half of travel time from the Twin Cities area.
