Torti (A142879) is a 3-year-old kitty who weighed over 7 lbs at intake!07/25/26 This shy but sweet girl is Torti! Torti will also respond to `Babygirl,` and she was brought to the shelter because her previous owner fe;lt she needed better access to the outdoors. Outdoor life can be very hazardous for cats, and studies have shown that it can affect their lifespan. Unrestrained outdoor cats can also have a detrimental effect on the local wildlife. Torti, in particular, was said to be a proficient vole hunter, and that instinct likely applies to birds and other small animals that call the Fairbanks area home. A good compromise that allows Torti the outdoor experience without sacrificing her safety or that of the little creatures would be a catio! Torti is looking for a home without kids where she can be the only pet. She was said to be fearful of babies, children and dogs. She was also said to not get along with other cats, and she will hunt smaller animals. She was described as being shy but frienly and was said to generally mind well and to use her litter box well.
