Rufus is with our partner rescue in LA and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter Meet Rufus, our adorable little doxy mix with a big heart just waiting to feel safe. At around 2 years old and 22 pounds, Rufus is fully grown and perfectly sized for cuddles, couch time, and everyday adventures. Rufus can be a bit unsure when meeting new people. He might bark and back up at first, just trying to figure things out in his own way. But give him a little patience and kindness, and you’ll see his true self shine through. Once he feels safe, Rufus melts into the sweetest love bug who just wants to be close to his people. This playful guy loves his toys and is always up for a good game of tug-of-war. He also enjoys the company of other dogs, which can really help boost his confidence. With a calm, understanding home and maybe a friendly canine buddy, Rufus will thrive. Rufus is looking for someone who will see past his initial shyness and give him the time he needs to trust. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, affection, and a whole lot of love. Could you be the one to help Rufus feel safe and finally home?   Rufus is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.  He is neutered  and has a microchip. His adoption fee is $50 0.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
