Description

Jackson is still waiting for his forever family… and we know his perfect match is out there. ❤️ Six-year-old Jackson has been with us for several weeks now, and getting to know the real him has been such a pleasure. The longer he’s been in foster, the more his personality shines. Can we talk about this weight loss journey?! Jackson is looking fantastic, feeling great, and definitely knows he’s handsome. He’s become quite the little Romeo and absolutely has a soft spot for the ladies. He does best with gentle, playful FEMALE dogs that have good social skills. He isn’t looking for a dominant dog or one that’s constantly in his face. He appreciates respectful play and dogs that understand boundaries. Jackson currently lives with several other dogs and has done really well. During the day, he happily free-roams the house, uses the dog door like a pro, and is completely trustworthy in the home. If the dog door isn’t available, he’ll hold his potty and let you know when he needs to go outside. He’s been a really easy dog to live with. He absolutely loves being with his people and is always up for a good snuggle. At six years old, he’s past the wild puppy stage but still has plenty of playful moments and enjoys interacting with his canine friends. As always, we want to be transparent about what we’ve learned while he’s been in foster. Jackson does resource guard his food. He eats alongside our other dogs every day without issue because everyone has their own space and mealtimes are supervised. He eats his meal, leaves everyone else’s bowls alone, and has learned excellent manners. However, if another dog approaches his bowl while he’s eating, he will react. Because of that, his forever family will need to continue managing mealtimes appropriately, and ideally feed separately.  We also recommend a home without small children. That’s honestly been the biggest challenge we’ve seen. Otherwise, Jackson has settled in beautifully and has proven himself to be a loving, affectionate, funny little guy who just wants a family to call his own. If you think Jackson might be the missing piece to your family, we’d love to hear from you.
