Description
Bonnie has a gentle soul but there is no doubt this sweet senior beagle has been neglected. Now, just at the very start of her senior years, she is getting the fresh start she deserves. Bonnie is in a very loving foster home and has become completely devoted to her foster dad. She follows him from room to room and, although she is quiet for the most part, she does howl a bit mournfully when he has to go out. She is a mellow girl, content to nap a lot during the day, but she does enjoy long walks if taken at a leisurely pace, and she is good on leash. With a consistent routine, her housetraining continues to improve, but foster dad knows he's got to have the timing right. He has also shared that Bonnie has a funny habit of getting the zoomies after she does her potty -- not when she pees, but the other. We guess it makes her happy lol. She is heartworm positive but our vet says her lungs sound clear and her heart strong. So we've brought her up to date on her vaccinations, treated ear infections, intestinal parasites and skin issues caused by flea allergic dermatitis and poor nutrition. Then Bonnie had a much-needed dental cleaning with some necessary extractions, (not to worry - no problem eating yummy food and treats!) Now she is ready for her heartworm treatment injections. Recovery should be smooth as she is so calm and she will be ready for a sleepover mid-August. If you’re looking for a loving and devoted companion, you may be the happy ending to Bonnie's rags to riches story. She is so deserving, please consider giving her that.
