Description

Hi, I'm Ernest!I'm a handsome, sleek, three month old Bombay baby. I'm not as outgoing as about it as my brother Cecil but I have a lot of love in me too. It just takes me a little longer to show it.The truth is, the world still feels pretty big to me sometimes. New sounds, new faces, new places — it's a lot, and I get scared more easily than I wish I did. But I want you to know something important: I am trying. Every day I get a little braver. I poke my nose out a little further. I stay in the room a little longer before I retreat to somewhere safe. I'm not stuck this way — I'm just taking my time, and I'm getting there.Cecil helps me more than he probably even knows. He's the bold one, the one who marches right up to new people without a second thought. When I can see him, I feel braver too, like maybe the world isn't so scary after all. But if he wanders off where I can't see him, I cry. I can't help it. And every single time, without fail, he comes running back to me. That's just how we are. We're not meant to be split up — we're better, braver, and happier together.I'm still a kitten at heart, even with all my worries. Once I feel safe, I want to play just as much as Cecil does — chasing things, pouncing on things, getting into a little harmless mischief. I promise the playful, silly kitten is in there. I just need a patient hand and a quiet moment to come out.Our mama, Cordelia, is a sweet calico who found her own happy ending — she chose a family, and they chose her right back, so she gets to stay in that home forever. I'm so glad she got that. Now Cecil and I just want the same kind of forever, in a home patient enough for a shy boy like me, and lively enough for a brother like Cecil. If you have room in your heart — and a little extra patience — for a kitten who's still learning to be brave, I'd love to meet you. Cecil will probably introduce himself first. But I'll come around. I always do, especially with him by my side. Love,Ernest & Cecil*Due to size, no small children****When puppies and kittens are adopted before being fixed, they MUST be adopted in East Tennessee. If you would like to meet your new best friends, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830.
