Meet Petey At just 4 years old, Petey should be enjoying the best years of his life. Instead, he was found desperately following a car down the road, hoping someone would stop and help him. Thankfully, someone did.When Petey arrived, it was clear life hadn’t been kind to him. Weighing only 51 pounds, he was severely underweight, suffering from painful skin issues, and so sunburned that it broke our hearts. But every day he’s getting the care, good food, and love he has always deserved, and we’re working hard to help him gain weight and heal.Despite everything he’s been through, Petey is incredibly sweet and just wants to be loved. The only thing he asks is that his toys stay his. He doesn’t like anyone touching them—but honestly, can you blame him? Looking at the condition he was found in, there’s a good chance this is the first time he’s ever had toys of his own… or even a meal he didn’t have to worry about losing.
