Description

Sweetheart is with our partner rescue in LA and can come to NJ with an approved foster or adopter Meet Sweetheart — a tiny but mighty little lady with a heart as big as her name.   Sweetheart is an 11-year-old Chihuahua/Wire Fox Terrier mix weighing just 7.5 pounds, but don’t let her size or age fool you. This girl is impressively spry — she can hop on and off the couch with ease and has even been known to scale a 30-inch pen like a pro. She’s active, curious, and still very much enjoying life. She’s the definition of easy companionship. Sweetheart is gentle, quiet, and incredibly friendly. She gets along beautifully with other dogs of all sizes and is perfectly unbothered by cats. She walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and knows how to use a doggy door like a champ. Despite her senior status, she gets around wonderfully and keeps up with daily life without missing a beat. She does have the early beginnings of cataracts, but right now she sees well and navigates her world confidently. Sweetheart would be a perfect match for someone looking for a low-maintenance, loving companion who still has plenty of pep in her step. She’s the kind of dog who will quietly steal your heart and make every day a little sweeter. If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow with a big personality, Sweetheart is ready to meet you. Sweetheart is up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm.  She has been spayed and has a microchip. Her adoption fee is $300.  Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training   prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through, they deserve a loving, committed home.
