Description

Meet Uptown Funk, a 1‑year‑old Shih Tzu with a whole lot of personality packed into his tiny, three‑legged body. He originally came to us as an owner surrender when an infected foot required surgery, and once he healed and became a proud tripod, he bounced right back to being his happy, wiggly self. He was adopted and doing well, but unfortunately his separation anxiety made potty accidents a challenge when he was left alone — even for just twenty minutes. Here’s the important part: Funk does know how to go outside. His accidents aren’t about training; they’re about fear. When he’s left by himself, he panics, and his little body reacts. He needs someone who can help him understand, day by day, that he is safe, he is loved, and he is not being abandoned again. If you’re a stay‑at‑home empty nester, someone who misses having a shadow, or someone who wants a dog that will happily glue himself to your hip, Funk is absolutely your guy. He wants to be under your feet, in your lap, following you from the table to the salt shaker — making sure you never have to walk anywhere alone. He is affectionate, devoted, and hilariously clingy in the most endearing way.Uptown Funk is looking for a forever home that can give him stability, patience, and companionship. In return, he’ll give you loyalty, love, and a tiny tripod trotting behind you everywhere you go.Funk lived in a foster home with dogs and cats and did great with all of them!If you’re ready for a Velcro dog who just wants to belong, come meet Funk. He’s ready to stick by your side.Uptown Funk's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it’s important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal’s true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: https://www.acskc.org/adopt-1Once your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet!
