FLOUNDER

Description

Flounder has swimmer syndrome. This is a congenital condition in which the muscles and tendons in a kitten’s legs do not develop properly. He'll need some accomodations such as a low-sided litterbox, and please do not give him access to stairs. He'll need to be an indoor-only cat. But he'll live a happy life and make you smile!Insights from my foster:`Flounder was born with swimmer syndrome, and when he first came to us, he had some difficulties navigating spaces and getting into areas. He is now able to navigate and run. He is still not able to jump with his back legs, but will hop around. He is very friendly loves people. He is tolerant of cats and dogs, but still a bit fearful. He would probably do well with another young cat or a friendly cat, he is highly motivated and will try to get up and around into places even if it’s difficult. He does require a low sided litter box as he does have trouble getting in and out, but he uses the litter box great plan would make a great addition to any family. He does not let his disability stop him. He is very motivated and will try to figure out how to get around obstacles if needed he loves people and he sits like a little kid due to his difficulties with his back legs.`
