Description
Location: Arundel, ME Foster name: Bear Neutered male age 3-4 Bear is a very happy, handsome, affectionate, neutered male who has recently arrived in Maine from Kentucky. He weighs a sturdy 52 pounds. Bear is very friendly to all people and enjoys riding in the car. He wants to follow his people everywhere and cuddle on the couch every chance he gets. He has made friends with three of our four other cattle dogs and has settled into our hectic multi- dog family, but would be most comfortable living with calmer females or non-excitable low key males. He is medium energy and walks very nicely on a leash. So far, we have not seen any interest in playing with balls or toys but he loves to run and go for long walks. He has one eye that was injured and does not see out of, but it is not noticeable and doesn’t affect his activities. He has been introduced to horses and goats and has not shown any herding tendencies yet. We have not introduced him to our cat. He lived with children in his temp foster and did well, but he can be jumpy when greeting his family. Bear is learning to come reliably when called now that he knows his name, but I wouldn’t take him off leash until he has more training under his belt and is familiar with a new home. He is house trained and will eagerly hop on the bed for nighttime snuggles before getting into his own bed. He will benefit from basic training to give him confidence and life skills. A fenced yard is necessary. Bear is delightful and smart and will be the best companion when included in daily activities and fun. He can be visited in Arundel, Maine.
