Description
This pup will be available to meet starting on 7/25**Meet Cooper!** If you're looking for a dog who will keep you smiling, make you laugh every day, and then curl up in your arms at the end of the night, Cooper is your guy! This sweet, affectionate pup has never met a stranger. He adores people, is wonderful with other dogs, and has quickly become a favorite in his foster home. Whether he's playing in the yard, splashing around on the tanning ledge of the pool, or cuddling up with his favorite humans, Cooper is happiest when he's part of the family. Cooper has done wonderfully with children and loves being close to his people. In fact, he'd much rather snuggle in bed with you than sleep in a dog bed! He's affectionate without being demanding and has a gentle way of asking for just a little more love when the pets stop. He's a smart boy who genuinely wants to please. Cooper learned the command **"down"** in about an hour and responds very well to gentle guidance. He's making great progress with his manners and understands when he's told "no." Like most young dogs, he still enjoys chewing on toys (and occasionally mistakes a stuffed animal for one!), so he'll benefit from plenty of appropriate chew toys and continued positive reinforcement. Cooper is dog-friendly and enjoys playing with canine friends, but he's also polite enough to know when another dog is ready for a break. He's curious about cats and may invite them to play, but he's learning to respect their boundaries and understands they're part of the family. He's doing great with potty training and quickly mastered using a doggy door. Cooper walks nicely on leash without excessive pulling, crates well, and settles down after a few minutes. He can be a little anxious when left alone for long periods, so a family that can continue building his confidence will help him thrive. One of Cooper's most endearing qualities is his playful curiosity. He was fascinated by his reflection in mirrors and windows, making his foster wonder if he hadn't spent much time living indoors before. Watching him discover the comforts of home has been a joy! He's also a big fan of water—whether it's rolling in a muddy puddle before hopping in the pool or happily stepping into the bathtub for a scrub-down, Cooper embraces bath time like a pro. Cooper has the perfect balance of playful energy and sweet affection. He loves running, exploring, and playing just as much as he loves curling up beside his favorite people for a nap. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will be your adventure buddy by day and your cuddle buddy by night, Cooper is ready to steal your heart. They were rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
