If you're looking for a tiny shadow with a giant heart, Shroom is ready to be your new best friend. This adorable 13-pound, non-shedding sweetheart was rescued as a stray from a shelter, and it's clear all he's ever wanted is a family to love. With his irresistibly soft coat, expressive eyes peeking out from beneath his fluffy hair, and joyful little hops when he's excited, Shroom has a way of making everyone around him smile. A Day in the Life Shroom is an easygoing little guy who starts each morning with one of his favorite activities: cuddling. He wakes up between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. but patiently waits in bed until his person is ready to start the day. Once you give him the signal, expect happy face kisses, endless tummy rub requests, and a tail that just won't stop wagging. After a quick trip outside for a potty break, he enjoys breakfast around 7:30 a.m., followed by a leisurely 20-minute morning walk. During the day, Shroom is happiest curled up beside his favorite person, snoozing peacefully while they work, relax, or watch TV. Around 6:00 p.m. he'll enjoy another walk or some backyard playtime before dinner, followed by a longer 30-40 minute evening stroll. At bedtime, Shroom happily curls up in bed with his family and sleeps soundly through the night. Personality Shroom is the definition of a companion dog. Once he knows you're his person, he wants nothing more than to be by your side through every part of the day. He follows his people from room to room, settles happily wherever they are, and is always ready for a cuddle whenever you sit down. Although he arrived at his foster home a little unsure after all the changes in his life, it only took a day for his loving personality to emerge. Today he's affectionate, gentle, incredibly sweet, and loves meeting new people. He greets strangers with curiosity and quickly decides they're new friends. His favorite pastime is curling up in the funniest sleeping positions imaginable, and when he gets really excited, he launches himself straight into the air in adorable little hops that are guaranteed to make you laugh. He's a soft, gentle soul who simply wants to love and be loved. Dogs, People, and Social Life Shroom enjoys meeting other dogs and especially likes dogs his own size. He has had a blast playing with a Chihuahua friend, though once he's had enough playtime, he's perfectly content to relax and take a nap. He also loves meeting new people and adapts well to new environments, making him a wonderful companion for outings and adventures. Energy Level Shroom is the perfect mix of playful and relaxed. He enjoys bursts of play throughout the day—especially if there's a ball involved—but he's mostly a professional cuddler. His newest favorite game is entertaining himself with a tennis ball: he'll fetch it, toss it into the air himself, chase it down, and repeat the process over and over, keeping himself completely amused. Walking Shroom loves his daily walks and is always excited to get outside. He can pull on leash when he's enthusiastic and likes to stop occasionally to check in with his person. He's very interested in other dogs and often hopes they'll come over to play. With continued practice, his leash manners should continue to improve. House Training Shroom has made wonderful progress with housetraining. Since arriving in foster care, he has had very few accidents and is learning quickly. He seems to understand the routine well but may need a little patience and consistency when adjusting to a brand-new home. With continued guidance, his foster believes he'll be fully housetrained very soon. The Home Shroom Is Looking For Shroom's biggest challenge right now is alone time. Because of this, he'll thrive with someone who is willing to continue building his confidence through positive training. His adopter should understand that this is something he can improve with patience, consistency, and reassurance. In return, they'll gain one of the most devoted little companions imaginable. Why You'll Love Shroom There are dogs who like people, and then there are dogs like Shroom, who absolutely adore them. His greatest joy is simply being close to his family. Whether he's making you laugh with his joyful little hops, snuggling under the blankets, inventing his own games with a tennis ball, or quietly sleeping beside you while you work, Shroom has an incredible gift for making ordinary days feel happier. If you've been searching for a sweet, affectionate little best friend with a non-shedding coat and an endless supply of love to give, Shroom just might be your perfect match.
