MEET DRUMSET!Drumset came in full of love and headbutts! He had been living in a colony where he was bullied by other cats, and had Wounds of Unknown Origin, requiring a 4 month quarantine. He was then found to have entropion, a painful eye condition in which the lashes are turned in and rub against the eye. Ouch! Drumset was entitled to be a grouch, but he was nothing but loving to everyone, including the cats who shared his quarantine space. His charming personality has made him a favorite with staff and volunteers. Drumset is now free for adoption, and some family will be lucky to add this boy to their home! Drumset is currently up to date on vaccinations and flea and tick preventative, has been spayed, microchipped and examined by our vet team. During his vet exam, he was found to be positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). This is not unusual for unneutered male outdoor cats as it is spread primarily through bite wounds. Many cats with FIV will have a normal lifespan. Most FIV positive cats can have an excellent quality of life during this time. Your new primary care veterinarian may recommend more frequent regular examinations to more closely monitor your cat's health and can discuss various medical therapies or treatment options. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.
