After spending 8 years with a family, he was surrendered to an overcrowded NYC shelter simply because they decided they could no longer care for him. Through no fault of his own, the family he trusted walked away — leaving King confused, heartbroken, and running out of time.But King had something special about him. He quickly won over the shelter staff and volunteers, who called him their “favorite” and described him as sweet, wiggly, friendly, and always happy to see you. Because of his incredible social nature, King even became a shelter “greeter,” helping welcome new dogs and showing them that not every unfamiliar face is something to fear.Still, being everyone’s favorite wasn’t enough to keep him safe. His deadline was approaching, and King deserved so much more than to have his story end there. That’s when SNARR stepped in. Now safe and thriving in a loving foster home, King is showing everyone exactly what we already knew: this boy is AMAZING.And at almost 9 years old? You’d never know it! King has plenty of pep in his step and loves strutting around the neighborhood like he owns the place. He enjoys his walks, sunbathing in the backyard, squeaky toys, bones, and — most importantly — being with his people.King is a true companion dog. He is loving, affectionate, and an absolutely fantastic cuddler. In fact, King would like to formally inform you that personal space is overrated. Like a true pittie, he wants to be touching you at all times — whether that means curled up beside you or happily sprawled right on top of you.He’s also wonderfully food motivated (he’ll follow you anywhere for a treat!), smart, attentive, eager to please, and listens well. And so far, King has yet to meet a food he doesn’t like. King is friendly with everyone he meets, regardless of age or size, and he’s eager to make new canine friends, too. He’s gentle, social, affectionate, and simply loves being part of whatever his people are doing.He may have a big block head, but his heart is even bigger.After everything King has been through, what he wants is actually pretty simple: a soft place to land, a family to love, and the security of knowing that this time, he’s home for good.King has been patiently waiting for someone to choose him — and never walk away.
