Nana is a precious 5-year-old Basset Hound/Dachshund mix with the gentlest soul you'll ever meet. If you're looking for a calm, loving companion, Nana is your girl. She has a quiet, passive personality and simply wants to be close to the people and animals she loves.Nana is a professional cuddle bug who adores snuggling up beside you and soaking in all the love and affection you have to offer. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, all she needs is a few days to settle in. Once she knows she's safe, her sweet personality shines through, and she'll become your loyal best friend for life.She's truly a dog's dog and enjoys the company of other animals, so she would likely love a home with furry companions. However, she'd also do just fine as the only pet as long as she has a family to love.Like many hounds, Nana has a natural instinct to let her family know when someone is nearby. If someone knocks on the door or comes home, she'll happily announce their arrival and make sure any would-be intruders know they aren't welcome. Once she's satisfied that everything is okay, she's right back to being the sweet, affectionate cuddle bug everyone loves.One thing that makes Nana extra special is that she was born with a slight deformity that causes her front legs to bow. She has been evaluated by a veterinarian, who determined that there's nothing that needs to be done because it doesn't cause her any pain or affect her quality of life. It doesn't slow her down one bit; she walks, plays, explores, and enjoys life just like any other happy pup.Nana is the kind of dog who doesn't ask for much; just a little patience, a cozy place to curl up, and someone to love. In return, she'll give you unwavering loyalty, endless cuddles, and a friendship that will last a lifetime.PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: ***ALL ANIMALS ARE CURRENTLY IN LONG BEACH, MISSISSIPPI.*** We transport adopted animals every 2-3 weeks to Northeast states. Completed applications take precedence over inquiries. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application.  We will discuss additional details with potential adopters once we have an application on file. For Pet's Sake Rescue is a Mississippi based rescue. We are located in an overpopulated area surrounded by high-kill shelters.Adoption fees include transport, vetting and a MS Health Certificate to travel. Each pet is spayed/neutered, receives age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, heartworm test (6 months and older) microchipped and  flea/tick/heartworm prevention. ***Breed input is required for each platform but is not guaranteed to be accurate.
