Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Meet Angel! Angel is a 2-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix weighing just 10.7 pounds, and she’s every bit as sweet as her name suggests. This precious girl found herself in a South Texas high-kill shelter after her beloved owner passed away. Despite losing the only home she’d ever known, Angel has remained incredibly gentle and loving. Angel can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a little patience and she’ll quickly become your devoted companion. Once she trusts you, she loves being close to her people and enjoys soaking up affection. She gets along well with other dogs and would do well in a home with a friendly canine companion or as your one-and-only little shadow. She’s currently learning the ropes of house training and is doing well with crate training, so she’ll continue to thrive with consistency and encouragement. If you’re looking for a loyal little friend with a kind heart, Angel is ready to start her next chapter. All she needs is someone willing to give her the love and security she deserves. Could you be the happy ending Angel has been waiting for? Angel has been diagnosed with heartworm infection. Dogs acquire heartworm infections when they are bitten by a mosquito that was infected with heartworm larvae.Dogs with heartworm infection live happy, high-quality lives as long as they are given appropriate care. Heartworm infection is relatively common in the United States so we are in need of caring adopters like you that are willing to open their home to a dog with heartworm infection. We think that our heartworm dogs have just as much to offer their new adopters as any other dog and they deserve a chance at life. Adopters will receive all the necessary medications needed to complete the heartworm treatment protocol. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for her entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Her adoption fee is $250. This includes her spay surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Please be aware that puppies and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so interested parties are encouraged to apply online at www.saspca.org. Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories. Our adoption events are held every other Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional questions may be directed to sagdinfo@gmail.com. ** This dog is in a foster home in San Antonio, TX.
