Description
Meet Wink, a sweet 7-year-old Cattle Dog/Heeler mix with a gentle heart and an easygoing personality. At 35 pounds, this handsome black and white boy is looking for a peaceful retirement home where he can enjoy naps, quiet companionship, and plenty of love.Wink is house trained, crate trained, and has wonderful manners around the home. He is happiest following his people from room to room before giving them an adorable little nose "boop" to remind them he is there. He is a calm, affectionate companion who enjoys sleeping and simply being close to the people he loves.Wink gets along well with other dogs and currently lives happily with multiple cats. Because he has limited vision and hearing, he can be startled if another dog approaches unexpectedly, but he does well with calm introductions. Due to his sensory impairments, we think he would do best in a home with older, respectful children who understand how to approach him gently.Wink came to rescue as a stray, and despite whatever he experienced in the past, he has remained incredibly kind and trusting. He adjusted to his foster home with ease after a little pacing during his first days and has settled into a quiet routine.Wink has limited sight and hearing and is scheduled to have one eye removed on July 25. He will need either a securely fenced yard or to always be walked on a leash to help keep him safe. His future family should be mindful of approaching him where he can see or sense them to avoid startling him.If you are looking for a loyal, low energy companion who will fill your days with quiet love and gentle nose boops, Wink is ready to spend his golden years by your side.If you are interested in Wink, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
