Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure MJ #2 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 72 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   MJ | 7-year-old, 21 lb Chihuahua Mix | Your little shadow and snuggle buddy MJ is a handsome 21-pound Chihuahua mix with the heart of a best friend. This sweet, confident little guy absolutely adores people and would be happiest spending his days by your side. Whether he's joining you for a brisk walk, riding shotgun in the car, or curling up next to you for an evening of TV, MJ is all about companionship. He's fully house trained, walks beautifully on leash without reacting to people or other dogs, and happily keeps pace with dogs two and three times his size on his daily one-mile walks. Once he's had a bit of exercise, he's perfectly content to relax on the couch or snooze in a cozy bed. MJ gets along well with other dogs and currently lives peacefully with both a 55-pound Chow mix and a 65-pound German Shepherd mix, as well as cats. While he enjoys sharing his home with other animals, he does appreciate his personal space. If another dog or cat becomes overly pushy, MJ isn't afraid to politely let them know by giving a growl or showing his teeth. He's simply a confident little gentleman who prefers that others respect his boundaries. With humans, however, he's incredibly affectionate and loves to snuggle as close as possible. MJ's ideal home is one where he'll be treated as a true companion. He would love someone who enjoys daily walks, car rides, and plenty of cuddle time. He could thrive as an only dog or with respectful canine companions, and he would do well in either a house or an apartment. Well cared for throughout his life, MJ is healthy, athletic, and ready to start his next chapter with a family who will appreciate his calm nature, loyal heart, and endless affection.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $400. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here .
