Description

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! Sully is a two year old, 50 lb bully blend looking for his second chance at happiness. He was surrendered to the shelter when his family was moving and said they couldn’t take him with them. The poor guy deserves the safety and stability of a real forever home.    This hunky house hippo is moderate to low energy and could be happy with or without a fenced yard or another dog friend at home. He does request a kiddie pool in the summer time! He may not look like a typical water dog but he really loves plopping down in one on a hot day.    Sully has been a wonderful house guest in his foster home. He’s house trained, hardly ever barks, and has showered his foster parents with love and snuggles. He rides well in the car and walks nicely on leash and loves to do both. He enjoys playing with toys and is especially fond of his lamb chop plushie which he prances around the house with.    Sully is dog friendly and has lived with another dog previously. He hasn’t been around cats with us so we’re not sure how he feels about them. Sully can be nervous meeting new people. He’ll happily approach when given the time to warm up, but cowers when new hands reach for him. A quiet, low-traffic home with older or no kids is a must while he continues to build confidence. He has been great with the kids he has met, but we know it’s a big ask for many kids to respect his space. Not that he respects yours once you’re in the circle - he’ll nap trap you on the couch for as long as you’ll have him!    If Sully sounds like the companion you’ve been looking for, email almosthome4dogs@yahoo.com today!   (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.) PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter: All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events, where you can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they’ll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster. We cannot adopt to homes where electric-shock fencing systems or training collars are used. For more information on the dangers of electric-shock collars, please visit banshockcollars.ca/studies.php . We do not have an online adoption application; to request an application, e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com. To speed e-mail processing time, be sure to note the name of the dog you are inquiring about in the Subject line. For Meet & Greet times and locations, visit our home page, where you also will find information on our adoption process and fees. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives — that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you — there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life ... or two!
