If you’ve been searching for a best friend who will happily share every moment of your day, Walter is ready to fill that role. This adorable Shih Tzu is the definition of a companion dog. Sweet, gentle, and incredibly affectionate, Walter forms a strong bond with his people and simply loves being wherever they are. Walter is an easygoing little guy with a heart full of happiness. He’ll happily follow you from room to room, making sure you’re never alone, and he’s always ready to exchange a few cuddles for some ear scratches. His favorite place is wherever his favorite person happens to be. This handsome boy has never met a stranger! Everyone is greeted with a wagging tail and his signature happy attitude. Whether it’s visitors, veterinary staff, or someone he meets on a walk, Walter is convinced they’re all potential new friends. He was an absolute favorite at the veterinary clinic thanks to his sweet, easygoing personality. Walter also gets along wonderfully with other dog-friendly dogs. He enjoys playing with canine companions, sharing toys, and making new four-legged friends. While he would likely love having another playful dog in the home, his greatest joy is simply spending time with his people. He’s still exploring the wonderful world of toys and hasn’t picked a favorite just yet. Instead, Walter likes to carry different toys around in his mouth as if he’s proudly showing off his latest treasure. It’s one of his many adorable little quirks that will make you smile. Walter is the kind of dog who makes every day a little brighter. He’s loving without being demanding, playful without being overwhelming, and has a wonderfully even-tempered personality that makes him a joy to have around. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will greet you with a wagging tail, shower you with affection, and happily be your shadow, Walter is ready to become your new best friend. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe.
