Meet Cass.  If you are a tortoiseshell lover, rejoice!  Cass is the classic tortie you’ve been waiting for.  This petite 7-pound Domestic Shorthair beauty wears every color a cat can have in her stunning coat, making her as gorgeous as she is unique.Cass is estimated to be between 1 and 2 years old, but she’s already overcome more than most cats ever should.  She was rescued from a junkyard, where she was raising her kittens beneath a pallet while doing everything she could to keep them safe.  Despite surviving “on the streets” and arriving thin and underweight, Cass greeted her rescuers with immediate trust and friendliness.  Since then, she’s discovered that life indoors suits her just fine.  She’s learned the joy of dependable breakfast and dinner, has put on much-needed weight, passed all of her veterinary exams with flying colors, and is now spayed.  Her days of searching for food and raising litter after litter are officially behind her.Like many torties, Cass started out with a little “tortitude.”  She appreciated her personal space and preferred to observe life on her own terms.  But with patience and love, she’s blossoming.  She now enjoys gentle head scratches and pets, and while she’s still getting used to hugs and kisses, she continues to become more affectionate every day.  Her favorite place is a soft, plush blanket where she can stretch out in comfort, relax, and watch the world around her.  After surviving life outside, she’s earned the right to be spoiled.Cass is ready to hit the lottery with a forever family who will cherish her, pamper her, and remind her every day that she’ll never have to worry about food, safety, or survival again.  If you’re looking for a beautiful, resilient companion with a heart that’s growing bigger every day, Cass is ready to meet you.
